PureGen has been deisgned primarily for superyachts that use diesel engines for generating electrical power. A common issue with all diesel engines is soot - greasy, unburned deposits that escapes with the exhaust gas.

These deposits can spoil the look of valuable wooden decks and they also float on the water - potentially forming an oily sheen on the surface, and thus covering bathers with soot and greasy deposits.

PureGen has been developed by Halyard to remove soot from generator exhausts by using two methods - PureGen Continuous or PureGen Disposable. Both methods operate in tandem with the generator's exhaust gas system and it can be installed in either a 'wet' or a 'dry' exhaust system.
